Privacy notice
Last updated: 31 October 2026
In short: we use your name, email and mobile number to run your free practice trade or trade replay and, if you ask us to, to send you SignalX emails. We only use essential cookies. We give Moneta Markets a reference number, not your details. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time.
1. Who we are
This website (the SignalX free practice trade and trade replay pages) is run by SignalXApp, operated by Nick Groves. For data protection law we are the controller of your personal data.
We deal with privacy questions by email only: hello@signalxapp.com.
This notice explains how we use personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
2. What we collect
What you give us
- Name (the replay page only asks for your first name), email address and mobile number, with its country code.
- Your choices: that you confirmed you’re 18 or over, and whether you ticked the optional box for marketing emails.
What we collect automatically
- A device cookie (
sxd): a random ID so we can recognise your browser when you come back. See Cookies. - Your IP address and browser details (the “user agent”), saved when you send the form or place your practice trade.
- Where you came from: the
srctag and any UTM tags in the link you followed (for example, which social media post). - Funnel events: anonymous steps such as “page viewed”, “form opened” or “Moneta button tapped”. These are linked to the device cookie, not to your name, email or phone.
- Your practice trade: the direction, prices, simulated result and time of your one free practice trade on the virtual £2,000 account.
- Our emails to you: which emails we planned and sent, when, whether they were delivered or bounced, if you unsubscribed, and whether you tapped a button in them (see section 3). We don’t use tracking pixels, so we don’t record whether you opened an email.
We don’t collect payment details, ID documents or any special category data. We don’t take real money or place real trades.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Set up your practice account, run your one free practice trade or show you the trade replay, and remember you when you come back. | Contract: steps you asked us to take (Article 6(1)(b)). |
| Send you one email with the result of your practice trade or trade replay, from noreply@signalxapp.com (replies go to hello@signalxapp.com), straight after it ends. | Contract: you asked us to run the trade (Article 6(1)(b)). It’s a one-off email, and it has an unsubscribe link too. |
| Contact you by email, SMS or phone about your practice trade, SignalX and how to open an account with Moneta Markets, only if you ticked the optional marketing box. By email this means up to three short reminders (about 1 hour, 1 day and 3 days after your trade) if you haven’t joined Moneta, or, if you have started with Moneta, up to two setup emails (tips to finish verification, and how to connect MT5 to SignalX). They stop as soon as you reach the next step, and every one has a one-click unsubscribe link. | Consent (Article 6(1)(a) and PECR). The box is unticked by default and isn’t a condition of using the site. You can withdraw your consent at any time. |
| Keep the site secure, stop spam and abuse (for example, rate limits and a hidden spam-trap field), and enforce the one free practice trade per person rule using your email, phone and device cookie. | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): keeping the service fair and safe. We keep this to the minimum we need. |
Measure which pages and links work (anonymous funnel events and src/UTM tags). | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): improving our pages. We only measure our own pages, with no third-party analytics or advertising cookies. |
| See which of our emails work: the buttons in our emails go through a link on our own site, so we can count which email a “Join Moneta” or “Connect MT5” tap came from, and we count unsubscribes and bounces per email. Reaching Moneta this way also stops the reminders. | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): improving our emails and not sending ones that no longer apply. No tracking pixels. |
| Keep records we must keep by law, and deal with complaints or legal claims. | Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) and legitimate interests. |
We don’t make decisions about you that are based only on automated processing and have legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Moneta Markets
SignalX is an introducing partner of Moneta Markets, a separate company that offers real trading accounts. If you tap a “Join Moneta” button, you go to Moneta’s own website. The link includes our partner code and a lead reference (a code such as SX7K2M9QPA) so Moneta can tell us that you came from SignalX. We don’t pass your name, email or phone number to Moneta in that link.
Anything you give Moneta is covered by Moneta’s own privacy notice. Moneta may tell us whether an account was opened against our partner code so we can be paid as its partner.
5. Cookies and similar storage
We only use essential cookies and browser storage, which the site needs to work as you asked, so we don’t ask for cookie consent. We don’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
| Name | Type | What it’s for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
sxd | Cookie (first party, HttpOnly) | Random device ID. It remembers your practice account and enforces one free practice trade per person. | 12 months |
sxadm | Cookie (first party, HttpOnly) | Admin sign-in session, set only for SignalX staff on the admin page. | 12 hours |
sx_rp_lead, sx_rp_start, sx_rp_done | Local storage | Replay page: remembers that you already joined, where the replay is up to and that you finished it, so a reload carries on. | Until you clear your browser data |
sx_src, sx_utm_source, sx_utm_medium, sx_utm_campaign, sx_utm_term, sx_utm_content | Session storage | Keeps the link tags you arrived with while you move between pages. | Until you close the tab |
Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading the pages doesn’t send your details to anyone else.
6. How long we keep it
- Leads (your details, choices, device links and practice trade): 24 months after your last visit or form, then deleted.
- Funnel events: 12 months, then deleted.
- Email records (what we sent, bounces, unsubscribes, button taps): kept with your lead and deleted with it.
- Backups: up to 30 days, then overwritten.
If you withdraw marketing consent we stop marketing straight away. We may keep a short note of your email so we don’t contact you again by mistake. If you ask us to delete your data, we delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.
7. Where it’s stored and how we protect it
Your data is stored in a database on a server we rent from Hetzner, in Helsinki, Finland (EU). We protect it with encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted server access, a password-protected admin area, security headers, rate limits, and regular backups that only we can access.
8. Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data. We share it only with:
- Our hosting provider (Hetzner), as a processor that stores data for us under contract.
- SiteGround, which provides our hello@signalxapp.com and noreply@signalxapp.com mailboxes and sends our emails, as a processor under contract. It handles your name, email address and the content of the emails we send you.
- Other email or SMS providers: we don’t currently use a third-party email or SMS marketing service. If we start to, we’ll update this notice first.
- Moneta Markets: only the lead reference in the link, as explained in section 4.
- Professional advisers, regulators, the police or courts, where the law requires it.
9. International transfers
Your data is hosted in the EU (Finland), and our emails are handled by SiteGround, an EU-based provider. The UK recognises the EU as giving an adequate level of protection. We don’t transfer your data outside the UK and EU at present. If that changes, we’ll update this notice and put the safeguards the law requires in place.
10. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data and get a copy of it.
- Rectification: have wrong data corrected.
- Erasure: have your data deleted.
- Restrict how we use it, and data portability where it applies.
- Object to our use based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent to marketing at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email, by replying STOP to a text, or by contacting us. This doesn’t affect anything we did before.
To use any of these rights, email hello@signalxapp.com with the email or mobile number you used. It helps to include your lead reference if you have one. We’ll reply within one month. It’s free in most cases.
If you’re unhappy with how we use your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.
11. Under-18s
This site is only for people aged 18 or over. We ask you to confirm this before you take part. If we learn that someone under 18 has given us their details, we delete them.
12. Risk and practice trades
Practice trades use virtual money and are simulated. Replays and practice trades are based on real SignalX signals and real gold prices, but any result shown is simulated or indicative, and past performance is not a reliable guide to future results. Nothing on this site is financial advice. Trading CFDs and gold on margin is high risk, and you can lose more than you deposit.
13. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice. We’ll change the “last updated” date at the top, and if a change is significant we’ll tell you on the site or by email before it applies.
